Cream Tea - as many drinks refills as you like, big benefit. Sandwiches lovely especially chicken pesto and sundried toms. Cakes lovely but scones dry and stale.

I went to Patisserie Valerie on the 19th January. As I entered I could see the waitresses were busy. I went to seat myself and then a waitress approached me.I sat at the back of the Patisserie near the kitchen. I waited quite a while, the waitresses just passed me by. A girl came out from the kitchen, she was short in nature, and I ask if she could serve me. The girl informed me a waitresses would take my order soon. After a while a waitress did come over to me and I asked for a pot of tea and a tea cake with jam. A waitress came over and placed a pot of jam on my table, then after a minute of so she placed two hard butters on my table. No pot of tea had arrived, and then came my tea cake. The butter was hard to spread and my tea cake was cold and not fresh. My pot of tea finally arrived, I was still trying to spread the butter on my tea cake at this point. When I had finally finished eating, I asked the waitress for my bill. The waitress ignored me and walked towards the kitchen. The waitress went to another table and they paid their bill. The waitress never came to me, after a while I got up and went to the counter where a young girl was doing the hot water for the pots of tea. The girl just stared at me, then a waitress told me to stand at the end of the counter near the front window. The waitress who served me in the beginning approached me, and I paid and told her to keep the change, I was now in a hurry to get to the car park. The waitress did asked me if every thing was alright, but they knew it wasn't so I replied it was. I did not want to give them the satisfaction that it wasn't. I have been served a pot of tea and a tea cake the right way by Patisserie Valerie but that was two months ago.

I think the place was built very well. The presentation was 5 stars. But cheesecake I ordered was not 100% cafe standards - it felt as if it was not fresh!

I have decided to change my previous review as today's experience has caused me to rethink. I use this outlet as it has, in the past, been a good place to get a decent coffee or fresh tea. I even purchased a couple of gifts such as their afternoon tea and brunch deals for a few friends. That is how loyalty and good service operatesI actually had my own voucher for a mince pie and hot drink for a pound today and thought it would be nice to pop along to enjoy my treat. Checking my voucher was okay the member of staff said they had no mince pies, which is fine, so I asked if I could have a large latte instead. But no, I could only have the regular and still had to pay the pound. Come on, now I feel let down by a company I like to use for their professionalism. It would not have hurt putting a little more coffee into the deal as I was not getting the mince pie. So now I can make my choice and not use this company as it seems that loyalty is a one way street. So thanks for the service to date, it was good and appreciated. However as I feel let down I will no longer be purchasing my gifts or refreshments from the company and will source another outlet. All the best for 2019 as mine has not started too well.

I visited Patisserie Valerie today after meeting a new friend who may become more. She had been here before but it was my 1st time. There was a good selection of patisserie's and light meals. We chose two light meals, latte coffee and hot chocolate. The meals were tasty. The drinks good and served by helpful polite staff. I will be going there again when I'm down that way.
