The team looking after this stunning Vulcan deserve a great deal of praise. On the open day you can do a cockpit tour and at least on the day I attended the was an optional extra to be in the cockpit when they power up the APU to drive the control surfaces and bomb bay doors. I actually got to demonstrate the control surfaces and feel a Vulcan's stuck and rudder first hand. Once in a lifetime opportunity that I never expected to even be on offer. I'm very grateful to the XL426 team.
A brilliant morning and afternoon. Recommend
Very interesting, cockpit was interesting with a informative guide explaining how tough it was for the 3 man crew during their 16 hour flight to the Falklands war in 1982,well worth the visit
Great bit of preserved history on our doorstep. Highly recommend a visit before it's too late
Amazing to be able to get up close and personal with one of the most distinctive aircraft Britain has ever produced.
